Our Pastor

A Visionary, Pastor, Preacher, Servant, and sought-after speaker, Pastor James A. Lewis, Jr. was born in Cordele, GA to Bishop James A. Lewis, Sr. and Dr. Wilhelminia Lewis. He is the second born of four children, Bishop Anquinetta C. "Kayce" Lewis, John David Lewis, Sr., and Daphyne J. Lewis-Campbell.Raised in Columbus, GA Pastor Lewis accepted Christ as his personal Lord and Savior and was baptized at the age of seven.He was called to preach on March 15, 1992, and publicly confessed to the congregation of New Testament Missionary Baptist Church his calling on November 8, 1992.At the age of 15, he preached his trial sermon "Stepping Out on Faith," on June 20, 1993 and was licensed and later ordained.

Matriculating through the Muscogee County School System, he is a 1996 graduate of Kendrick High School. After graduating, he enlisted and served in the United States Marine Corps until July of 2000.Reminded of his calling, he left the beloved United States Marine Corps and returned to Columbus, GA to serve with his father and mother in ministry, at New Testament Missionary Baptist Church. He was installed as the church's first Youth Pastor.He led the youth church and was later assigned the pastoral responsibilities of the Music and Arts ministry.
He continued to grow and develop his pastoral discipline serving in various leadership roles throughout the ministry.During this time, he began his formal education training as a student at Beacon College, Columbus, GA and Hampton University, Hampton, VA.He holds, a Bachelor of Science in Management (BSM), and Master of Business Administration (MBA), from the University of Phoenix.He is currently pursuing a Doctor of Education in Christian Leadership (Ed.D.).He has served as an Adjunct Instructor for Virginia College, Columbus, GA.

Although he accepted the calling to preach at an early age, Pastor Lewis contends that his acceptance preserved him until he got older and gained a better understanding of himself and the ministry. During this transition, he was greatly influenced by his father, Bishop James A. Lewis, Sr., and the late Reverend Dr. Samuel DeWitt Proctor, his father's DMin cohort mentor and professor at United Theological Seminary, Dayton OH. Mentors include Apostle Ira V. Hilliard of New Light Christian Center Church, Archbishop Ralph Dennis, Kingdom Fellowship Covenant Ministries, Baltimore, MD, Dr. R. A. Vernon, The Word Church in Cleveland, OH and Dr. Joseph O'Brien, his professor and mentor at Argosy University.He has traveled and preached throughout the country and abroad.

He is a faithful servant and believes that if we are faithful with a few things, that God will make us ruler over many.In November of 2017, Pastor Lewis was elevated and installed as the Pastor of New Testament Christian Center Church, Inc., under the leadership of Bishop Lewis, Sr.He received prophetic word from his mother Dr. Lewis at the close of the installation service.In early January 2018, he was asked by Pastor James R. Herring Sr., to be his successor as he was retiring. Pastor Herring believed that God had identified Pastor Lewis to preserve and elevate New Revival Christian Center Church. After prayer and hearing the Spirit of God confirm that this was to be his next assignment in building the Kingdom.He shared this with his Spiritual Father Bishop Lewis.Bishop Lewis confirmed that his mother's prophecy had manifested and released him for this God ordained assignment with these words, "You're Ready my Son!" He accepted the designation of Senior Pastor of New Revival Christian Center Church, Inc., Columbus, GA, was officially installed on April 8, 2018.

He is married to Dr. Stephany R. Lewis, and they have three amazing daughters Octavia, Mackenzie, and Mackenna.He reminds people regularly, to be careful what you tell yourself about yourself, because yourself will believe what you tell yourself, and that is what you will become.
